Ways to use Chia!!!
Because Chia seeds are so nutritionally dense, and provide you with all the essential fatty acids you will want to find as many ways to include them in your diet as possible!!
Many people may have heard of Chia seeds but stumble on what to do, when it comes to incorporating them into their diets. So here are some suggestions of how they can be used!
Firstly Chia seeds can be made into gel by adding water to them, I normally put 1/3 of a cup of Chia seeds with 2 cups of water, whisk it all up and leave to stand.
I try to leave them for at least 8 hours as this enhances the nutritional value of the seeds by activating the enzymes.
I then add this gel to any smoothies, soups or cereals I have or I use the gel to make sauces or butters go further (this is a great tip if you are trying to lose weight).
This bulks up the sauce and also helps to make you feel fuller as the chia seeds are fibrous and also are a slow release carbohydrate.
The seeds can also be added to cookie dough, cake mixture or any form of batter that you choose. They are also great for people on gluten free diets.
If you can’t be bothered making the gel or you simply don’t have time you can just sprinkle the raw seeds onto your salad, cereal, veggies or even add to yoghurt, because they don’t have any flavour they can literally be used with any food you desire. Or you can just add them to your glass or bottle of water and drink them throughout the day. You just have to be creative!!!
